Ho -moved, accordingly, that the Finance Committee be waited upon next Tuesday.

Mr. Aitkeu thought that it would bo competent to var.v the lease without fresh legislation. Ho seconded the motion pro forma. It had to bo remembered, he pointed out, that in connection with these proposals, the commercial conditions now wero different from those which obtained two years, ago. He instanced cases of up-to-date buildings for which no tenants could !>e found. They should not build thoir hopes too highly.

. After further discussion the motion was carried.

The statement of finances disclosed receipts amounting to £313 10s. od., expenditure £630 -Is. Bd., and a'debit balance of £SBl os. 3d.
