PALMERSTON : CLUB'S MEETING. . (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, June 24. . Fino weather again favoured the Palmerston Coursing Club for its second day's sport. There was a good attendance of spectators, and they were treated to some . really good coursing, the "go" between Jovial and Sleevelihk ill tho Waterloo Plate being a particularly fino one. Tho scoring was very ,close,-and Sleovelink won one of tho best, courses over seen on tho plumpton by- tho narrowest of margins. Tho hare finally beat tho dogs. All the arrangements at tho meeting were very complete, and rellect much credit on the secretary,' Mr. A. H. llogers. Tho fourth round of the Waterloo Cup, in which a representative lot' of dogs is still left in (including Mr. Ilichards's Gold- Quartz—a local animal), should produce some fino coursing to-morrow. Tho only surprise of to-day's coursing was tho win of Butterfly over Royal Artillery, after a really good course. Tho favourites for the Cup now are Kilcoo, an Australian-bred hound, and Millbank —both showing great pace. The liaros throughout tho day ran very strongly, and it is expected .that, tomorrow, they will, if possible, give even hotter sport. Saturday's programme will begin with the Plate at 12.30.
