THE CANE MILKER.

[PUBLISMD BY ARRANGEMENT.]

Tho Gano milking machine, for which the Australasian patent rights have just been purchased by Mr. H. R. Jenkins, the well-known Eltham farmer, is on view on tho Showgrounds, and is also actively demonstrating witli milking exhibitions 011 the seotion of land opposite tho A. and P. buildings. Tho cincf features of tho Gane milker are that there are no pulsator or milk cans in tho shed. The machine milks right from the cups into tho factory cans, which, by the way, may bo placed in tho milk cart at tho time. This advantage practically saves half tho lal>our so requisite in other makes of milking machines, and farmers cannot do better than note well this fact. In tho process of milking, tho milk is carried along a highly polished bronze tube into a releaser, which automatically empties tho liquid into a chute. Farmers who have witnessed tho process highly praiso tho ingenious mechanism. Tho bronze tubo also acts as a vacuum pipe. Another point in favour of tho Gane milker is its inflations, which are of a very lasting quality. Where used they have lasted right through the season, and have come out of the ordeal practically as good as new. The Gane pulsator is vory strong and simple in manufacture; so simple, indeed, that it has 110 parts which may go out of order, llr. H. R. Jenkins has mado all arrangements regarding his patent rights. He has not infringed in any way on any other patents, and he desires it to be mado known that ho is prepared to indemnify any purchaser of his machine against any liability which may be brought in connection with the Gane milker.

Mr. T. 0. Hodson, chairman of directors of the Eltliam Dairy Company, D. Bruce, of Ngamawahia, jlr. James Pavlane, of Wniknto (late of Taranaki), are all practical farmers who are installing Gano milkers. 3!r. Bruce writes that he is satisfied that the machino is all that it is represented to be. After viewing it, ho adds, thrco of his neighbours' eacli ordered a Gano plant. The foregoing only serves to slioy that although the Gaiic milker is now on the market, its make is so perfect that it has already ensured the supreme confidence of practical dairy farmers in all parts of the island. The company is making arrangements to instal 200 plants this season in New Zealand.
