BODY IN A TRUNK.
AMERICAN HOTEL TRAGEDY.' By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Reo. June 22, 10.10 p.m.) San Francisco, June 22. Recently a man named Johnson, with his wife and child, and a friend named Powers, arrived at a hotel in Portland (Oregon).
Powers left on June 20, after announcing that Johnson was going to Seattle. . A few minutes afterwards a heavy, trunk was brought down, and forwarded to the station. ■ The label bora the address of an unknown town, and tjio porters therefore opened tho trunk, and discovered the body of a man shot through the temple. Tho clothing was marked with Johnson's name. Yesterday Powers and Mrs. Johnson were arrested while on a motoring tour. The man, who was wearing Johnson's watch, protesting his innonenco.
