Immense crowds witnessed tho pio turesque and stirring Army Pageant which was opened by Lord Roberts at Fulham to-day. ... The naval and military tournament at Olympia was also well patronised. A spectacular feature of. the Pageant was Britannia's, muster. At a trumpet's summons Britain's troops, consisting of twenty-sis historic regiments, came forward. Anotherfanfare brought on tho South Africans, Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians, and tho Indian Cavalry. " After saluting Britannia the troops formed a square, showing the Empiro as held inviolate. A car with a goldminer, supported by a kangaroo, headed the Australian contingent. Now Zealand followed headed by .its own flag. Tho bluejackets played an important role in the pageant.
