CONVENTION OPENS TO-DAY. : THE DELEGATES. The twenty-fourth annual convention of the New Zealand Alliance commences in St. John's Schoolroom to-day, Mr. Wesley Spragg, of Auckland, will preside. A tea-meeting will ho held in the Taranaki Street Wesleyan Schoolroom at 6 p.m., and in tho evening there will be a monster- meeting at -the Town Hall, when Dr.. Henry- (of. America) and Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., will speak. .A choir, conducted by Mr. C. A. Potts, will lead the singing. On Thursday the Rev. F. AV. ChatIterton (principal of To Rau. College, Gisborne) will preside, and the speakers at tho evening meeting in tho town Hall will be tho Revs. F. Bennett, ot "Rotorua; R, S. Gray, of Christchurch; L. M. Isitt, of Christchurch; and -Miss Stirling. The convention meetings will not be open to the press.
