OTAKI NOTES.
A well-known Native, Whiriri Nikora, died suddenly on Sunday, tho cause of death being supposed to bo heart disease. Whiriri was very popular, and at one timo was a prominent footballer. He had been working at a metal pit, but on Saturday night complainwl of pain, and on Sunday was found dead in tied. A tangi is proceeding, tho body bei.n.j at the Raukawa. Levin and Ofcaki footballers played a drawn game here on Saturday, while at Manakau Hui Mai defeated Shannon by' 8 points to nil. The Tainui juniors' hold an unbeaten record, and again secured a win, defeating ICcreni by 5 points to 3.
