(from Oar Own Correspondent.) 6 A sitting of the Pofcone Court was held yesterday, Wore Mr. W. R. Haseldon, S.M. G. A. Tait and Win, Mules, charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, were each convicted and fined t £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Two boys, aged II and 10 years, who hud dune sum© damage to a case of eggs and a tailor's lay figure, were, after an admonitieai from his "Worship, convicted awl ordered to come, up for sentence when called upon. In the civil cases judgment for plaintiffs by default was given in the following cases:—Slate Guarantee Advances Office v, Hetiry Forman, -£7 1-s. 8d„ with, costs Bs.; Webley and Co. v. "Walter liydd, <£1G lis. ad., costs <£1 IDs. .6(1.; Fame v. E. G. l'oinlon, X 2 ltis. Gd., and costs 10s. Several judgment summons cases were 'dealt with. E. J. Poynton was ordered to pay to C. T. Collet the sum of Ms. within 14 days, in default 14 days' imprisonment. In the cafto of 3. CoWon and »So.n v. H. de a debt of M 155., defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay forthwith, in dot'ault U days' imprisonment. An order for payment of 2s. Gd. a week was made against .George Stokes in respect to adebt of £3 15s. owing to .1. Cotton and Son. Last night the Petone Oddfellows' Lodge entertained the Sister Wallace Lodge. An enjoyable time was spent, the features 'of the evening being dancing, games, and musical items. A bazaar in connection with St. Augusli tie's Church, Petone, will he held in the local Brill Hall, in September. The proceeds will be devoted to the reduction of the church debt.
