An. Auckland Wedding. Mr. A. S. Doust, of AVellington, and Miss Ethelwyu North, only daughter of tho ficv. Alfred North, of Auckland, were married at the Ponsouby Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon, the ceremony being performed by the bride's father assisted by her brother (the Ecv. J. J. North, of "AVellington). Tho church had been elaborately decorated by friends of the bride, with white flowers and foliage, the floral arrangements including a largo trellised arch and wedding bell. A reception was held subsequently in the church schoolroom, which was also tastefully decorated, when a number of toasts were honoured, and congratulatory telegrams from all parts of' the Dominion wero read. Tho homo of Mr. and Mrs. Doust will he in AVellington. The Wairarapa Hockey Team. The following team has been selected to represent the AVairarapa Ladies' Hockey Association in the match against AVellington, which is to bo played in Wellington on Saturday, June 25:—Fullbacks, Misses J. The birthday party given bj Mrs. Joseph on Satin-day for her daughter, Marjorie, was a delightful one. It was a gay company of children who danced, and played games, -and tried their luck at various' amusing competitions, and wero regaled at a most delicious tea with all-sorts-of good, things that children love. Some of tho children, did fancy dances, to the admiration of the others, and three of them played a little scene from "Uncle Tom's Cabin," as Eva, Topsy, and Aunt Ophelia. The really beautiful prizes awarded for tho competitions wero won by Gertrude Hwang, Isabel AVilford, Phyllis Murray, Ida Abbott, and Marjorie. Brow.u. Obituary. The nianv friends of Mrs. Aloysius MacDonald (widow of the late Mr. A. MacDonald, late manager of the Bank of New South Wales in this city)-will be sorry to heai of hei death, which took place suddenly early on Saturday mofnini: last. Mrs. Mac Donald, who was on a lioliday to her son, at Levin, intended to return to Wellington on Saturday ovening, but shortly after retiring to bed on Friday evening, took suddenly ill, and died of heart failure. Mrs. MacDonald, whose maiden name was Ellen Shanahan, and was born in 1857 being a daughter of the lato Mr. Martin Shanahan. of Marnoo Station, in tho AVimmera district. Victoria. The deceased leaves five sons, of whom Rev. A. A. Mac Donald is at Cooma, N.S.W., Messrs. Ranald and John Mac Donald, of Wereroa (Levin), Colin, of the local Bank of New South AVales staff, and Aloysius, who is in -the mechanical department of the Post and Telegraph. Under the will of Mark Twain, practically his entire estate is to be held in trust'for his daughter, Clara, tho wife of Ossip Gabrilowitsch, the Russian pianist. Five per cent, of the cash on deposit to Mr. Clemens's credit in banks is to bo paid to Mrs. Gabrilowitsch immediately, and the income from tho residuary estate hold in trust to be paid to her quarterly.
