The New South Wales Premier's recent policy speech contained some cheering announcements for State school teachers. Unclassified teachers sent to take charge of country schools who have hitherto ceived a salary of ,£SM and ,£96 a year shall receive a .minimum of .£100; in their second year they shall receive an increment of £i, and if in their third year they can secure classification they will get a substantial increase by an advance to .£126 a. year. Another body to whom relief will bo given is the third class of women teachers, who will receive such an increase as should meet their expectations and desires. Tho classified teachers in tho lower grades in charge of small schools will bo benefited by the abolition of tho 3C classification. Thoy will be placed in tho 3B grade, and be paid accordingly.
