The Chinese crew of the steamer Highland Monarch (3931 tons gross), which called at Philadelphia to load caso oil for Auckland, mutinied when they wore refused shore leave, and fought with knives. They were overpowered, but when tho vessel was leaving port seven of them leaped overboard, four being drowned.
