—. BREAKING A RING AT SINGAPORE. By Teleeranh—Press ABsoclation-CoDTrlent (Rec. June- 19, 5 p.m.) Singapore, June 18. The Government of the Straits Settlements proposes to impose a duty of 20 per cent, on freight in all'bills of lading, returning the duty only to shippers outside tho shipping ring. The ordinance will give power to recover deferred rebates. The public strongly approves of the Government's intentions.
