REGIMENTAL SHOOTING: Tho result of the competition for the Bolton Challenge Cup, open to any squadron in No. 2 Regiment, Wellington. Mounted Rifles, the Eketahuna Mounted Rifles present holders of the trophy, have again been declared the winners, scoring 653 in aggregate points as against 593 recorded W the Mastcrton Mounted Rifles. Tho match was a three-range seven-shot competition, at 200,.500, and 700 yards. GORDON HIGHLANDERS' TROPHY. It is considered unlikely that a New Zealand representative rifle team will visit Australia this year. There are no conspicuous events in the programme for the Commonwealth rifle meeting at Randwick as in the previous year, when the representative events like the Empire Match- and the match for the Gordon Highlanders' trophy were fired. The latter trophy is at present held by Now Zealand, boiiig won first at Randwick in October last, and . successfully defended at Trcnthani in March last. Tho probabilities arc that New Zealand will now allow the trophy to go by default. Tho Gordon Highlanders match is to be fired at Adelaide this year, and a.s it occupies 30 minutes only, it seems hardly worth while incurring the expense of sending a team across. TRENTHAM RANGE. ( Arrangements are being mado to partially complete the- scheme of extensions and improvements on tho Trentham rifle range before tho opening of tho shooting season in October next. The Scddou and Cullins Ranges will bo brought right up to date, giving ample room for the week-end competitions for SOO men, if uccd bo, and leaving the Sommorvillo' Rango clear for .improvements and extensions works during tho summer months.
