The return to Wellington of the Ellwcod children and Miss Winnie Nixon is eagerly looked.for by all those who had the good fortune to bo present at the concerts given, cby this talented combination five weeks ago, and there are. also a great many' who have not luul the opportunity of judging for themselves of the wonderful talent of these young Now Zoalaudors, and they no doubt will not fail to bo present at the Town Hall'on Tuesday next, when a farewell concert will take place. Tho committee has been very busy in work-, ing up extra enthusiasm,, and it looks as if their efforts'will be crowned with success, and that a bumper" house .will greet the 'young people, and givo them a -hearty and encouraging send-off. Mr. Hugo Gorlitz wishes to say that ail arrangements-are complete for'tho Ellwoods' departure on tlie Arawa on July 14. Patrons aro reminded of the benefit Sunday concert in aid of the Wellington Garrison Band's Instrument Fund by tho Wellington Professional Orchestra in the Town Hall to-morrow night. The orchestra will lie under the conductorsliip of Mr. Herbert Bloy (lateof Auckland), who makes his first appearance as at musical director in Wellington at this concert, and will contribnto tho following items: —"Light Cavalry" Overture (Suppo); Intro. 3rd Act .".Lohengrin " .(Wagner); " Rose Mourse," "ilignon Gavotte," "Pique Dame" Overture (Snppc),' and "Caballcros en Plaza" (Vatatte). Tlio vocalist for the evening- will be Mr. Ernest Wiseman, basso (lato of the- "Blue Moon" Company), who will sing "Tho Bandolero," and "Nazareth" (Gounod). Mr. Dave Kenij; will be at tho piano. " The announcement by Herr Benuo Sclierek, to be found in another column, that it is now definitely'arranged that Madame Teresa Carreiio, one of tho greatest of living pianists, will visit Wellington and give a series of eoncerts at- tho Opera Houso, should givo satisfaction to all'lovers of music in this city. The date is fixed for tho opening concert, to be given on Monday, Juno 27, and the box plan will be opened at the Dresden on Tuesday next. Since last with us, this world-renowned ar'tist has made a tour of the world, with tho exception of "Soiith. Africa, which sho intends visiting on her way back to Europe from Australasia. SKATING RINK. Roller skating, one of the most fascinating and enjoyable of winter recreation.l; for indoors, is enjoying high popularity at the Olympia ' Rink, Vivian Street, just now. Botli tho instructional and evening classes aro very well attended, and tho'general arrangements for visitors to the rink leavo very little to be desired. . The, samo programme will lie submitted again this evening. "MENDLE'S MARRIAGE." The comedy "Moncljc's Marriage" will Iki staged by the Wellington Catholic Club in tho Town Hall on Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and 28. A very suct cessful performance is assured, judging by the way iii which the rehearsals havo gone off. The play, which is in three . acts, contains many laughable situations. The scenery has been specially painted for the production, and an efficient orchestra under 31r, Davn Koniiy has been engaged.
