Messrs. Dnlgety and Co., Ltd., report:—At I our Paluierston North sale- yesterday, I there was a poor entry of sheep, and a small cutry of cattle. The sheep coil* sisted ehielly of lines of breeding ewes, which sold readily. Quotations: S.ui. breeding ewes, 125., 135., to 13s. 4d.; dairy cows, £5 to £5 17s. 6d.; light fat cows, .€4 16s. Messrs. Ualgnty and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale at .Upper Hutt yesterday as follows:--Owing to I.ho rough weather »just experienced stock did not, (•nine forward up to advertised numbers. JXiiry cattle close t-o profit met with good demand, and most of the yarding was sold at auction at satisfactory prices, Prices realised were as follow:—Dairy cows, clof-.v to profit and just calvcd, £6 10s. to £8 2s. Cel.: dairy cows, late culvers, £3 15s. to £4 17s. 6d.; springing heifers, £5 15s. to £7 12s. 6d.; empty, £2 12s. fid. to £3 155.; eighteen* mouth heifers, £2 12s. 6d.; store cows, £1 10s. to £3 lis.; bulls, £3 10?. litcssrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report that, at Palincrston North yesterday, a good yarding of sheep met with keen competition, all classes selling readily, any good lines of breeding ewes particularly being eagerly sought after. The report adds:—We have to report- a distinct advance in price. . Oattlk did not conic forward iu any largo numbers, but all lots offered changed hands. Quotations: Fourtooth llomney ewes, in lamb, 21s. 5d.; breeding ewes (mixed ages), 12s. 7d. to 145.; light, fat ewes, 12s. 4d. to 12s. 9d.; forward owes, 9s. 9d. to lis.; store ewes, 75.; cull empty ewes, 3s. 10d.; mixed lambs. 7s. 4d.; cuU lambs, 3s. 4d. to 3s. Sd.; purebred Shropshire ewes, mixed age:;, 15s. 6d.; Shropshire ©wo lambs, 14s.Shropshire ram lambs, 20s. 6d.; purebred' Lincoln rain lambs, 325.; fat cows, £4 9s. 6il. to £5; forward cows, £3; dairy cows, £4" Is. to £6 2s. | 6d.; store cows, 325. to £2. . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Palmerston North, branch), report:—At Palmerston yesterday a moderate entry of sheep and cattle met with a good sale. We quote:—Sheep: Aged breeding ewes, 9s. fid. to 10s. 7d.; storo lambs, Bs. Id. Cattle: Woaners, 30s. to 355.; cows in calf, £4 lis. to £5 2s. 6d.; light fat heifers, £4 45.; light fat Cows, £4 165.; store cows, £3 7s. Gd.
