HAMILTON-MAXWELL CO, "Woman's Hate" continues to draw large audiences at the Opera House, who watoh with great interest the powerful ■story unfolded by the pen of the late Hdnry Pettitt. With its fine comedy relief to tlis grim realism of the moving Court scene, in which the little child is called upon ;to bear witness against her mother, till tho culminating scene, in which the jury find their verdict of "Not Guilty," "Woman's Hate" presents a succession of beautiful stage effects, each presented in • the most complete fashion by this excellent company. The last nights of the present season are announced, the company concluding their Wellington visit with, the fine military drama, "Revenge," a powerful and realistic piece, dealing with plot and counterplot of the sort thai thrills an audience. "Revenge," with its beautiful military trappings, will be staged on tho same extensivo manner as in the Sydney season of the company. To-night is the last night of "Woman's Hate," and "Revenge" will he staged' to-morrow night. THEATRE ROYAL., Vaudeville at the Theatre Royal is in high favour with the public this week, the new programme having made a decided .hit. Brown and Wilmot, the American clog dancers, Ward Lear, the comedian,. Atho?, "the skating dude," aro tho star performers, and, assisted by tho other members of the companv, combine to provide, a most excellent evening's entertainment. The programmo will.be repeated' this evening. THE KING'S THEATRE. -The remarkable biblical film, "The Life of Christ," which forms the principal attraction of the new programme of pictures at tho King's Theatre this week. This fine production is well worth' a visit. Other excellent studies include: "A Lesson by the Sea," "The Fence on Bar Hanch," "His Hundredth Birthday," etc. The programme will be screened again this evening, and for to-morrow tho usual matinee and evening exhibitions ore announced. , HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. There was another large attendance at His Majesty's Theatre last night, when the second performance of this -.week's programme . was exhibited. The star picture . this ' week is a dramatic sketch entitled "Tommy Atkins," Shirley's great play. Another dramatic picture is "Tho Fence on 'Bar Z' Ranch,' this giving a thrilling account of a bpundar.v foud in the far West. Tho management announces that, on Monday next, there will bo a complete change of Srogramme. A matinee performance will e given to-morrow. THE ELLWOOD TRIO. Reports of the combined success of the F.llwood trio come to hand every day. At Dannevirko on Monday a splendid audience greeted the Ellwoods and Miss Winnie Nixon, and on Tuesday they appeared before a large house at Hastings. Aapicr is the field of operation at present, and on Monday at Masterton tho North-Island tour will come to an end. The sale of tickets for the great farewell to be given at' tho Town Hall on Tuesday next, June 21, is already very large and points to a full house. All , those who wore disappointed on the occasion of the EUwood trio's last performance at the Town Hall will do well to book this timo to avoid disappointment'. | The box plau is at the Dresden. STAR PICTURES. A good programme of animated views is being presented at St. Thomas's Hall, Newtown, this week. There will bo a matinee performance to-morrow, in addition to the usual evening performance. SKATING RINK. Every afternoon and ovening, outside the walls of tho Olyinpia Hall, in Vivian Street, may be heard a dull, csaseless roar; something like the distant sound of a fast express doing a clip along a level stretch. The roar is really tho song of the roller skates on the polished floor of tho Olyinpia Kink, the home of the great winter sport.. Both Iho afternoon npd evening sessions at tho rink are well attended by enthusiastic rinkers, and the sport now seems to be in tho , zenith of its popularity.
