CONSOLIDATED GOLDFIELDS OF NEW ZEALAND, LIMITED. The general manager of the Consolidated Group, viz., Golden Fleece, Wealth of Nations, Progress, aud Dlackwater, reports:— Blackwater Mines. .In lieu of comment I give transcription of cablegram to the directorate in London:— , No.'-1 Level North.-At the end of May. this face was 450 feet from the boundary. Since early April 57 feet have been driven on reef, showing average assay value of 21dwt. over a width of 10 inches. No. 2 Level (Joker).—ls now 380 feet from, the northern boundary. Over a distance of 130 feet tho average value of reef is lOJdwt., and the width 8 incheß. No. 3 Level.—This drive has reached a point 350 feet from the northern boundary. The last 101 feet driven returns 8 dwt. over 14 inches. No. 4 Level.—Her* the reef has been encountered, and at the end of the month had been driven on. 50 feet, the value averaging 21dwt. over 13 inches. Low Level Tunnel.—The course of this disclosed a nice block of stone 199 foot in length, of average value 14dwt., over 23 inches, but more recently. 46 foot have been driven through blank country Shaft—This has reached a point 50 feet below No 4. level, completing, the contract The work of sinking will now bo suspended, for some three or four months, it being considered most advantageous to make the connection between the" two ends of tho low level tunnel before resuming sinking operations. During tho month the battery crushed 3400 tons, yielding 20990z. sdwt., valued at £8571 19s. Id. The cyanide works treated 2035 tons, yielding 2050z. of gold, valued at £564 12s. Id.
At the others of the company's properties, developments were unimportant. The Wealth of Nations was able to do very little on account of alterations to boiler and compressor plants. The output for the month was:—Battery crushed 1780 tons, yielding 6Cloz. lldwt. bullion valued at £2*187 14s. led.; 1650 tons were treated, at cyanide works, producing 218oz. 16dwt., valued at £652 25.. 9d. . Progress Mines—Small footagesof developments have been the order of the month. Th output for the month is as follows:—Battery crushed 4285 tous, yielding 13900z. lOdwt. bullion, valued at £5745 16s. lid. The cyanide works treated 2805 tons, yielding 4490z. 15dwt., valued at £1085 Os. 5d.; 42.65 tons of sulphurets. were produced, of an estimated value of £752 Bs. GETTING OUT WASH DIET AT BOSS. <By Telecraph—Press Association.. Chrlstchurch, June 11. The manager ot the Boss Goldflclds, Ltd., wires as follows:—"Have started one shift getting up wash dirt, and will increase shifts as rapidly as men arrive." ROSS GOLDFIELDS.
