King George gavo an audience to Sir George Reid (Australian High Commissioner), who, on behalf of the Government and people of the Common wealth, fervently hoped his Majesty's reign would be a long, happy, peaceful, and glorious one. King George replied that Queen Mary and he had the most agreeable recollection of tlie visit they (when Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York) paid to Australia. . The King also gave audieuces to Sir Richard Solomon (South African High Commissioner), Lord Strathcona (Canadian High Commissioner), and the Hon. W. Hall-Jones (New'Zealarid High Commissioner). ' Mr. Hall-Jones expressed New Zealand's deep sympathy and loyalty, and her wishes for a long and prosperous reign for the King. King George, in replying, thanked the people of New Zealand, and recalled his very pleasant visit to the Dominion.
