In the House of Commons the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Mr. Birrell, replying to- Mr. Redmond (Leader of the Irish Nationalists) said that the Government did not desire to interfere with the press advocating the breaking-up of grass lauds, but could no_t permit the enforcement of such demands by illegal means.
