Cambridge University has awarded Captain Tremearde, a Victorian, a certificate carrying the Bachelor of Arts degree for research work regarding the origin, language, and folklore of the Hausas, the great Bantu-negro race of tho Nigerian Sudan; also a diploma for anthropology—tho first ever awarded —for a thesis on Nigerian head-hunt-ors.
