MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) POLICE CASES. Margaret Webb, who was convicted on a charge of vagrancy a week ago, and then elected to go into tho Salvation Army Home for a period of six months, was brought before the Court again, as she- would not remain in the home. It was stated by the police that accused told the matron of the home on Friday that she would not stay in the home, and later in tho day she was leaving the' home, and the matron communicated with the police. . Her complaint against tho home was that shehad not enough work "to do. His Worship said defendant had not taken advantago of tho opportunity given her. Sho would bo sentenced to six months' imprisonment. A much-battered individual named Henry Jas. Wren pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing an overcoat valued at 15s. Gd., the property of one Jacob lloson, and guilty to a charge of having resisted Constable Doyle whilst ho was in tlie execution of his duty. On tho application of Sub-Inspector Norwood, who explained that accused had only boon, arrested on Friday night, a remand to Monday was granted. Aubrey Tronson, a youth, appeared in answer to a charge of having on April 20 stolen the sum of £1 Bs. 6d., the property of one Francis R. Cha-rles, of Meeance, Hawke's Bay. ■ Detective Ca.sse.lls asked for a remand to appear at Napier on -Juno 15. The remand was granted, bail being allowed in the sum of £10 and ono suretv of £10-
