TAVIUNI RESUMES NEXT WEEK. The Union Company's Taviuni was docked at Port Chalmers this week for overhaul. It is expected that she will bo ready to rc3umo running on Thursday next. THE MAPOURIKA. No trouble was experienced by the Mapourika in working the West Coast ports this week. She left Westport at 10 a.m. yesterday, for Nelson and Wellington, and chouid reach hero early this evening. ROSAMOND AND CORINNA. As the Corinna was a day lat.o in leaving Wellington this week, she will omit, the call at f Otlchunga, and is duo back hero on Tuesday from New Plymouth. Tho Rosamond is this week omitting the return call at New Plymouth. She leaves Onehunga this morning for Wellington direct. Owing to the continued shortage of trucks at Wellington, the Union Company's Tvairnna had to leave for Westport yesterday without completing discharge 'of her Newcastle coal. Tho vessel arrived in port a fortnight ago with 4300 tona of coal to put out, and the shortage of trucks has been felt during the whole of her discharging operations, and yesterday it was derided to dispatch her to Westport, though she still had a quantity of coal to put out. It is expected that tho FcderaMlouldorShirc liner Sussex will leave Auckland for Wellington to-night. Advice received by the Marine Department states that the Hinemoa arrived at Ponto yesterday, as tlie weather was too bad to complete work at Cape Maria. Tho 'Hinemoa is now expected back jit Wellington iu about toil days' time. Messrs. W. M. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the Jane Douglas will be dispatciiod for Hokitika direct to-day. She will receive cargo at the Wool Jetty from 8 a.m. till noon. Captain Anglem, who has been engaged in tho Foveaux Straits oyster industry for the past 20 years, as captain of tho steamer Dispatch and of tin, steamer Loyalty, lias retired from active service. For 50 years he has been intimately connected with tho whaling, fishing, and oyster industry in the southern seas. According to the "Press," tho Shaw, Savill, aud Albion Company's Mamari. now at Lyttelton, will load one of the largest cargocs of frozen meat ever shipped in New Zealand, and will tako about 75.CW) actual carcasses of mutton and lamb, aud a- small quantity of general cargo from Lyttelton. flcr loading will bo hurried, aud she is to lcavo Lyttelton on Tuesday next fpr Port Chalmers, Picton, aud Wellington to complete. On Wednesday next the T« Anau is due from southern ports in the Koonya's run. She loads for New Plymouth, Wostport, and Dunedin. Captain Maxwoll, late of the Mamari, wont ashore at Loudon in April, and if? to have command of the company's new steamer Pakeha, shortly to be launched. Mr. Digby Smith, of the Union Corapany's Wellington wharf 6taff, went south on Thursday night, on transfer to Dunedin. Tho Kurow is to leave Wcstport at midnight to-night for Lytfeiton. Messrs. Bannatyne and Co., Ltd.," notify in this issue that the s.s. Jane Douglas will sail for Hokitika direct to-day. at noon. On Monday the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's Matalua will leave for Tirosunj to complete discharging, and to take cargo for London. She then goes to Bluff and Lyttelton to complete loading, and will sail from Lyttelton on June 28, for London, via Monte Video. Latest advice concerning the Caldergrovo, of the Federal-Houlder-Shire Line, states that she is proceeding from Liverpool to Auckland direct. She is due at Auckland about July 23, and afterwards comes south to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Duncdm. Captain W. B.
