ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SBr Telegraph.—Preia Associatlon.l Thames, June 9. • A sad drowning accident occurred at Cryer s Landing, Wharepoa, to-day, by which a young man named Alexander Rogers, aged 20, son'of a well-known resident of the district, lost his life. About s'aim. the young man proceeded to.the landing, and it is presumed he missed his footing while stepping on to a boat and tell into the water, • being carried away by the current and drowned. A search wag made for the body, but so far,without uvail. , The hospital authorities reported last night that tho condition of John Wilson, who was injured by the land-slip at the Miramar cutting on Monday, showed a slight improvement.
