The National Assembly or Brunswick unanimously protested against the terms of the Pope's Encyclical in connection with the centenary of Cardinal Borromeo, as being calculated to disturb tho religious peace of Germany. ["A Papal Encyclical on tlie tercentenary of Cardinal Borromeo contains a severe denunciation of Protestant reformers and their influence on modern times," stated a recent cablegram. "This has led to vehement protests in Germany. Interpellations have been given notice of in the Prussian Diot, and an Evangelical mass meeting of protest will be held in Berlin pn Juno 12."]
