RHODES SCHOLARS FROM SOUTH AFRICA. AEE THEY BEING CAUGHT TOO YOUNG ? My ToleErao'n—Press Association-G'novrlchi London, Juno 7. Dr. G. R. Parkin, LL.D., organising representative of the Rhodes Scholarship Trust, recently toured South Africa to inquire why the South African Rhodes scholars excel in sports and fail in work, whereas- Australan, New Zealand, and Canadian, students secure scholarships and prizes. Dr. Parkin now reports that it is desirable that South Africans should spend a year or two in their own universities before going to Oxford.
