OFF N.S.W. COAST. By TclcEraDh-Press Association-Oopyrialit Sydney, June 7. Mr. Charles Hcdloy (president of the Linnean Society, and author of "The Atoll s of Funafuti"), in a paper read before the society, reported the discovery of a, mountain peak 960 fathoms (1920 yards) below the surface of the ocean, and forty-six miles straight out from Bondi. There are indications that it is an extinct volcano, formerly of a great height, which has gradually sunk. The discovery was made by tracing volcanic dykes marked on the Admiralty charts.
