STAB CLUB ANNUAL DINNER. About eighty past and present members attended tno annual dinner of the Star Boating Club at the Hotel Windsor on (Saturday evening. Mr. C. A. Peare, the club captain, in the unavoidable absenco ot the president (Mr. 11. D. Bell, K.C.J occupied the chair. Speaking to the toast of the N.Z. A.Jt.A., Mr. N. Ualbraith referred to the increase in the popularity of the pastime. He instanced tho fact that when the association was formed iu ISB7. it consisted of only seven or eight members, whilst now no fewer thnn 52 clubs wire affiliated to it'. He also declared that a permanent coursa for regatta races for the whole of the Dominion should bo arranged.

Mr. A. D. Bayfield, secretary of N.Z.A.R.A., iu reply, said a New Zealand crew was to be invited to competo at the Australian Henley next season, and if possible, one would be sent. It was improbable, ho added, that a championship course would bo decided upon in the near future.

Other toasts were: "The King"; "The President"; "Winning Crews"; "Old Members"; "The Club Captain"; and "The Ladies."

Musical items wore given during the evening by Mrs. A. H. Hollis, A. Newton, A. Oummings, W. H. Brown, F. Moorhonse, Warren, Harrington, and Meadows.
