PAID TO POISON.
ALLEGED PRACTICE OF RUSSIAN DOCTOR. CLEARING THE WAY FOR THE I HEIRS. TWO ARRESTS. By Telecr^Db—Press Association—OopyrJght (Ree. June 2, 10.30 p.m.) St. Petersburg, June 2. Count Bonturlin, an officor of the Russian Imperial Guards, and heir to <£700,000, recently died suddenly. A sensation hn3 now been caused by the arrest of Count Lynssy (his brother-in-law) and Dr. Patchenko. Count Lyassy is charged with bribing tho doctor, who was attending Count Bonturlin, to administer strychnine to his patient. The bodies of Count Bonturlin's two brothers have been exhumed, and traces of poison have been discovered. The boy murdered at Warsaw (as cabled on May 20) is another member of the family. The St. Petersburg police accuse Dr. Patchenko of making a practice of removing wealthy people on behalf of heirs of estates. They declare that Dr. Patchenko received ,£50,000 for. each of the alleged murders. [It was cabled on May 20: "Count Bogdan Ronikier, a well-known Polish nobleman, has been arrested on a charge of murdering his brother-in-law, a boy of 17, whose life lay between him and the inheritance of a large estate/']
