POWDER MAGAZINE EXPLOSION.

« CLAIM AGAINST AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD. (By Telecraph.—Prosß A&sociatlon.l Auckland, June 2. On November 10 last an explosion occurred on the public powder magazine in the Auckland Harbour, by which the hulk and contents were entirely destroyed. There was a sequel to the occurrence to-day at the Supremo Court, before Mr. Justice Edwards; when Briscoe aad Co., Ltd., claimed X 1069 13s. from the Auckland Harbour Board as damage for the valuo of explosives destroyed. The case lasted all day, and had not concluded at 10 p.m., when the Court adjourned. Jlr. Skeirett, for the defendant board, applied for a nonsuit, his Honour reserving his decision on the points raised.
