CHINA TURMOIL.
RICE DEAR, COPPER LOW, UNREST SPREADS. ANTI-MANCHU FEELING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrtirbt London, June 1. The feeling of unrest in China is said to be spreading. Advices from Shanghai show that there is a general spirit of discontent in the Kiangsi, Iviangsu, and An-hwei provinces, due particularly to the high price of rice and depreciation in copper money. There is. a growing animosity against the Manchu regime (which last year discussed the capable and popular Minister Yuan-shi-Kai), and this is causing officials to fear assassination.
