Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, and Continent of Europe and United Kingdom, via Brindisi (duo London July 10). per Maitai. 3.30 p.m. Australian States (duo Sydney Juno 7), per Maitai, 4.30 p.m. Friday (King's Birthday) will be a holiday, the Postal Department will be closed in all its branches. Mails for steamers sailing on that day will close at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Juno 2, excepting the Australian and English mails, per Maitai, which will close on Friday as follows-.— English and foreign, 3.30 p.m.; Australian States, 4.30 p.m. There will not be any deliveries by letter-carriers, but a delivery will be made from tho Drill Shed between 8.30 and 9.30 o'clock on Thursday nirelit; also tho public counter at the Chief tost Office will be kept open from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. for delivery of correspondence which is addressed to the Chief Post Office. Mails by early trains only will close as usual on Friday, June 3; mails by Main Trunk train will close at 8 a.m. Friday, bnt there will bo no clearauce of city receivers on that day. Mails for Chatham Islands, per Ripple, close at Lyttelton, Friday. Juno 3, at 3 p.m. The next best dispatch for United Kingdom and Continent, of Europe will be via Brindisi, closing at Wellington, per Maitai. on Friday, June 3, at 3.30 p.m. The next best dispatch for United States of America, Canada, and West Indies, will bo . via Fiji, Fanning Island, Honolulu, and Vancouver, closing at Wellington, pur Main Trunk train, Tuesday, June 7, at 11.15 a.m. All the principal mails by train and steamer close at Te Aro and Courtcnay Place Post Offices at, the same hours as at tiio Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-foe clearance. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must ho handed in anil money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinsri , mail closes.
