NEW DUTCH STEAMER, On May 21 thero arrived in Sydney the Royal Packet Company's new passenger steamer Van Linschoton, which has b«a specially designed and built at Amsterdam for tho trade between Sydney n.nd Java. Sho is a, vessel of 3005. tons'cross and 18P6 tons not, her dimensions being:—Length 350 ft., breadth 43ft., depth 25ft. She has accommodation for 60 saloon and 18 steer--i.To passengers, and is fitted in luxurious style. The saloon accommodation is all >u the upper decli. the cabins containing but two berths both on the ono level. All the cabins are supplied with electric, fans, and large windows take the place of the ordinary port-holes. In addition to carrying five lifeboats, each capable of holding 54 persons, tho Van Linschoten also carries a motor-boat of laTgo dimensions. For the carriage of horses over 240 stalls have been fitted on the vessel. Yesterday tho Poherua was still barbound at Rrcymouth. She is laden with coal for Wellington.
