KING'S BIRTHDAY.
■ -4 ■ MILITARY CEREMONIAL CANCELLED. In consequence of the expressed desire of his Majesty King George V that the Royal birthday (June 3) is. to pass this year without ceremonial of any kind, the General Orders issued previously -by Defence Headquarters to the effect that a military parade and feu-de-joie were to take- place at the. various military centres of the Dominion has now been cancelled. The only ceremonial which will now be observed with regard to the occasion will be a Koyal salute of 2l guns, to be fired by detachments of the R-oyal New Zealand Artillery from the saluting points in Auckland and Wellington only. Officers of the AVellington Garrison are invited to attend his Excellency's levee on Thursday. Full dress. The Koyal New Zealand Artillery will furnish the guard of honour, and the Heretaunga Mounted Rifles the escort.
