Psimerston North, May 30. The case against Archibald Muir, eharged with stealing cheques, the property of the National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd. was concluded this evening, and the jury, after a retirement of thrco hours, brought in a verdict that accused was guilty of the theft of three cheques. Tho jury also added a rider to tire elFect that accused should be leniently dealt with on account of his ago, and the apparent laxity in his department. Sentence was deferred.
