Rolls, a well-known English aeroplanist, attempted to fly from Dover to He ascended at 5.40 a.m. in the presence of thousands of cheering spectators, but owing to the motor misfiring he was compelled to make a hurried descent at Dover, sonio of tho onlookers having a narrow escape. The aeroplane was damaged. '
