Tho Police (Weekly Best Day) Bill, which proposes- to secure one day a weel: o(T duty for police constables, was considered by a Standing Committee of tho British Parliament. At tho inslanco of Mr. Churchill, tho Bill was largely reeast, and limited to England and Wales. ..To meet the public convenience, it was also agreed tlmi; instead of having one day a week definitely, each constable should be allowed fifty-two days in a year, such days to be distributed so as to secure as far as possible one day's rest in seven.
