The steel four-masted • barque Swanhilda, 2150 tons gross, built in 1890, ran ashore on Staten Island, off the south-east of the mainland of Tierrn del Fuogb, Argentine Republic. Fifteen of the crew wore saved. Tho rest wore drowned, including the captain and his wife. The Swauhilda was bound -at tho time from Cardiff (Wales) to Antofagasta (Chile). [The steel barque Swanhilila is registered at Glasgow, and is owned by .the Sailing Ship Swauhilda Company. Dimensions: Length, 273 ft.; beam, 42ft. 3in.; depth, 24ft.]
