He', fortnightly meeting of i&e Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held yesterday afternoon in the Society's rooms, in Willis Street,, when the following members of committee were present:—Mesdames A. R. Atkinson (chair), Ponsonby, Glover, and Evans. Cases of fathers neglecting to support their families were reported, and it was agreed to try to find a home for a child whoso mother is ill. Various other cases were dealt with, and the secretary reported the result of investigations she had made. Subscriptions from the following were acknowledged with thanks: 10s. 6d. from Messrs. A. W. and F. C. Brailsford, 10s. each from Dr. Martin and Mr. W. F. C. Campbell, ss. each from Mrs. Stafford, Mrs. W7H. Field, Mrs. Barraudj Mrs. A. K. Newman, and Mrs. Pringle, and 2s. from Mrs. M. A. W. ■
