4 CANADA DEFERS AMERICAN APPROACHES. BUT NEGOTIATES WITH OTHER POWERS. By Telcsrraph-Press ABSoeiation-Oopyriehl (Rec. May 26, 10.35 p.m.) Ottawa, Maq 26. Replying to President Taft's fresh invitation to reopen tariff reciprocity negotiations, the Canadian Government asks for a postponement until September owing to Sir Wilfrid Laurior's, Mr. Fielding's, and other Ministers' absence during most of tho summer. Meanwhile, negotiations for trade agreements are proceeding with- Italy and Belgium, similar to the ngrcnmciu with Franco, and these negotiations aro likely to be successful at an early date. ;
