AUCKLAND BY-ELECTION.

Baume, M.P. for Auckland East. Ho handed it to the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Mr. Buinaess), who promptly telegraphed i instructions to the Clerk of Write to Issue a, writ for the election. Chrlstchurch, May 26 >•** a meeting of tho Christehuroh ifootmakers' Union last evening a motion _ was carried unanimously to take a. ballot on tho proposal to send £10 to the Labour party in Auckland to holp the Labour candidate in tho Auckland East by-election contest.
