MID-WEEK ASSOCIATION GAMES. After a spell of two weeks, as a result of'the death'of the King and (he observances connected with the Hoyal funeral, the Wednesday competition matches were resumed yesterday. gory, and Portinan rendered yeoman service. At one time Trevethick secured tho ball just inside his own half, beat the opposition, and raced up the field, and scoi'Ml a beautiful goal. Amongst, the Union team was a pioneer of the game, viz., Thos. Shields, who played very well indeed, considering the number of years he has been on tho retired list. The Artillery forwards as a whole were good, but were inclined to offend too much with "hands." Porter, in goal for Artillery, played a' really good game. Mr. J. Davidson was referee. OLYMPIC A, 7; HEARTS B, 0. Olympic A and Hearts B met at Duppa Street, the former winning bv 7 goals to 0. Sampson (3), W. Mouit C 9. Firkins and A_. Mouat scored for the winners. Mr. Vi. Reynolds was referee.' AUTILLERY A, 2; HEARTS A, 1. Artillery A and Hearts A met at Newtown Park, Artillery winning by 2 goals to 1. Mr. H. Waters was referee. x Y.M.C.A. AND OLYMPIC B. Y.M.C.A. won from Olympic B by default. Tho match had been set down for Miramar. AMENDED FIXTURES. The following amended fixtures will be played on Saturday:—Senior Division: Petone v. Berhampbre; Y.M.C.A. v. St. Augustine. Fourth Division: Swifts B v. Y.M.C.A. A. ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT. A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Football Assor ciation was held last evening, Mr. H. N. Holmes presiding. There veue also present: Messrs. B. L. Salmon, H. Mayer, J. Jr. Oilier, J. Davidson,, J. B. Paton. R. . Mackay, and A. Williams (lion, secretary). The referee in the Wadestown-St. John's match reported having ordered a WadostDirn plnyor off tho field, "on a charge of having used abusivo language to the referee. The referee and the player both attended the meeting, and explained their respective sides of tho case, the player absolutely denying the. allegation. It was decided to hold tho matter over until next meeting, in order to take the evidence of several of tho St. John's players. Tho player l ordered off will be allowed to play in the meantime. The Newtown Congregational team protested against the win of Y.M.C.A., on the ground that the winners played a member over age. Tho Y.M.C.A. ■ Club wrote stating that the player was not over age! It was. decided to inform Newtown that thev must produce a birth certificate if they wished to go further into the matter. A letter was received from tho Petone Club asking that its sixth class team should be withdrawn from tho competition, as the team was unable to travel. A member of the committee reported a certain supporter of the Y.M.C.A. for alleged misconduct in the form of unseemly and unsportsmanlike "barracking during the progress" of the Y.M.C.A. v. Ramblers match at ICelburne. Complainant stated that he did not see the alleged offence, but it had been reported to him. Tho Y.M.C.A. Club was in no way to blame for the man's conduct. The matter was held over in the meantime, as the person complained of has now left Wellington. The referee in the Thistle-Rovers match, piaj-ed on Newtown Park last Saturday, complained ■of the Rugby players * having crossed .their ground during the progress of play, after the Rugby match had finished. It was decided to refer tho matter to the Rugby Union. The secretary of the Palmerston North Club wrote asking if a match could bo arranged for them in Wellington on June 3. It was decided to select a second division representative team to meet the visitors. The selectors were instructed to pick the team not later than Monday Mr. C. IC. Dick has been elected to fill the. place of Mr. Holmes on the Boys Selection Committee. The boys' subcommittee has decided that the .selection of plavers for the boys' representative team lie confined to fifth and sixth grade. It was decided to pjay the WellingtonWanganui Brown Shield match at Newtown Park on July 2, and to ondeavour to get the sole use of the ground for the Mr Wood wrote pointing out that he had resigned from the committee before he forfeited his seat by>?ing absent for three meetings. ... ~ Mr H. Waters was* elected to fill the vacancy on the caused by the retirement of Mr. Wood. The Ramblers Club was given permission to withdraw its fourth division °A special meeting of delegates was held, when the suggested new rules dealing with Wednesday football were passed. The meeting passed tho motion of Mr Salmon, that no. transfer shall be granted after the completion ot the nrst round of League matches.
