As forecasted, the duty of opening the first Parliament of the Union of South Africa (which was to have been undertaken by the present King as Prince of Wales) will be entrusted to King George's uncle, the Duke of Connanght. Router's Cape Town correspondent states that Mr. J. X. Mcrriman, Premier of Cape .Colony, has declined tho invitation to join -the first Union Ministry which General Botha is forming.
