Boanerges is looking as well now as at any time during his career (telegraphs our correspondent) v A. Oliver will have the mount on the \Awapuni champion in the Borough Handicap at Wanganui, It is reckoned that the eolt will only bo son out once nt the meeting. A feature of the track work at Wauganui yesterday was a remarkable gallop by El Dorado, who, with a light-weight on his back, rail a mile and a quarter in 2min. 17sec., and easily out-distanced Continuance. Apart from the time point of view, however, it should be noted that the weight carried would not cxceed Gst. St. Luinsden. who won the Ladies' Purse at the Egniont meeting, is in the Electric Handicap at Wanganui to-day, and, judging by his track work, he can be depended upon to run well forward. l'aisano, Stourtnn, and Continuance aro all reported to be down with inllu'enza, and will be unable to start at Iho Wanganui meeting to-day. This will be a severe blow to double backers if it proves correct, as Continuance was a strong favourite in the Century Hurdles. FIXTURES. May 21—Takapuna J.C. Winter.
