BRITAIN AND FRANCE AGREED. AUTONOMY, WITH OBEDIENCE TO LAW. (Rec. May 23, 11.10 p.m.) London, May 23. Sir Edward Grey, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and M. Pichon, French Minister for Foreign Affairs, are agreed that the Cretan question ought to be definitely /ittled on the basis of guaranteeing the Island a large measure of autonomy and compelling it to respect tho legal situation which has been defined by Europe,
