KAISER ON CONFEDERATION OF POWERS. CONVERSES WITH M. PICHON AND LORD KITCHENER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Cosrrleht Paris, May 22. Tho journal "Matin" reports an interesting conversation between the Kaiser and M. Pichon (French Minister of Foreign Affairs), both of whom attended tho funeral of King Edward the Peacemaker. Tho "Matin" states that the Kaiser, in a to no of evident sincerity, developed the theory that the great nations of Europo should, in tho interests of humanity and civilisation, remain closely united and co-operate in forming a powerful peace confederation. The Kaiser had a long conversation with Field-Marshal Lord Kitchener. "HONOURABLE COMPROMISES." MUTUAi HOPES. (Rec. May 23, 10.40 p.m.) Paris, May 23. According to "Le Temps," both the Kaiser and M. Pichon, in njutual conversation, expressed confidence in the future of tho material and moral peace of the .world, based on honourable compromises wherever possible. ANGLO-GERMAN AMITY. EFFECT OF THE IKAISER'S VISIT. (Rec. May 23, 10.40 p.m.) Berlin, May 23. The "Norddeutsoher Gazette" remarks that tho demonstrations of sympathy accorded to the' Kaiser in England are acknowledged by Germajiy with lively satisfaction. It is hoped" that the reciprocal friendliness shown on this sad occasion will strengthen the conviction that there are no conceivable difficulties between the two countries that arc not surmountable by goodwill and mutual understanding.
