DUTCH NEW GUINEA.

« EXPLORING MOUNTAINS. LEADER OF EXPEDITION DIES. Bs Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, May 21. News has been received that tho Dutch scientific expedition in Dutch Now Guinea, whose object was to ascend the snow mountains of that region, has returned to the coast, after suffering great privation. The party was attacked by malaria, to which Dr. Badiug, the leader, succumbed. Earlier advices showed that they had succeeded jn reaching the top of Wilhelmina peak and had sighted two similar peaks 15,000 ft. high. Scantily-clad natives were seen on the snow-covered heights, and bird-life is plentiful. The country is very rugged, and rain is constant.
