News comes from Aloxandrovski (a town on the left bank of the Dnieper, 172 miles from its mouth and 56 miles south of Ekaterinoslav) of disaster to a steamboat and considerable loss of ■life. Tho vessel, which had on board 91 workmen, struck, a rock and sau'i, and 47 persons perished.
