Tbe principal results of the second day of the Christchurch competition are as follow: — Shakespearean- recitation for gentlemen—Glo'ster's soliloquy: P. A. Deveroaux (Christchurch), 1; K. E. Shorney (Wellington), 2; A. D. Aitken (Christchurch), 3. Recitation for ladies—Brewing's "An Incident of the French Campaign": Gardner 1; Miss Paccy, 2; Misses Dovereaux (Christchurch) and Arnold (Wellington)., equal, third. Miss Aileen Moore (Dunedin) won the piano solo,-with Miss Vera Moore (Duneclin) second. No first was -awarded in the baritone solo. Tho second prize was awarded to T. M. Charters (Christchurch). Violin solo: Miss I. .Morris. (ChristpJuirch), 1; Mr. A. ■V. Wosthoad (Dunodin), 2. Tho first in the impromptu debate were Messrs. AV. F. Stock (Christ\cliurch) and R. N. Gray (Christchurch), though tho judge considered L. H. Hunt ' (Limchills) host individual speaker. THIRD DAY. The following are the principal re-, suits of the third clay of the competitions :— Only two choirs competed in the choir contest Mendelssohn's • 'As Pants the Hart"), which was won by Greymoiith Mothodist Choir, 149 out of 200 marks. Sydenham Choir was second with 137. In Tannhauser selection, "Hail Bright Abode," Greymouth (133 marks) was first, _ and,.
