A report 011 the medical examination of. 322 children of the upper standards of the East Christehnreh School was presented to the Education Board today. Tlie number included 171 boys and 151 girls. Of this total IS4 we're passed as absolutely good in health, 71 as in good health with defects, and 07 as fair with -defects. Twelve had defective hearing, 8 adenoid growths, and 25 defective eyesight demanding further attention. The examination of the teeth of tlie girls of one standard showed that of 83 girls only -1 had full sets of sound teeth. SCHOOL QUESTIONS OF THE DAY. Christchurch, May 18. ' It was anticipated that the vaccination controversy would be re-opened today, when 3(i informations against parents who had failed to haw their children vaccinated wero set down for hearing. Blenheim; May 18. - Albert 'William Foote and Henry Gordon, two escapees from fiurnliam Industrial School, who were arrested in the Peloriis district at the end of last week, appeared in the local Magistrate's Court to-day, charged with theft of bicycles. Both pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supremo Court at "Wellington for sentence.
