LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.

ELECTION OF BISHOP OF EDINBURGH. Sir,—ln yours of May 5, regarding the cablegram announcing the election of the Rev. Walpolo to the See of Edinburgh, I wish to point out that this seems to be the third meeting for the election of Bishbp. The first meeting was called for March 17. It was announced by the Dean that it was carried by a majority at an adjournment, with deep, regret, that the Primus, Bishop liobbnrds, of Brechin, declined to allow his name to go to tho election. It was practically certain, that he would have received a unanimous vote. It was carried, to adjourn for month, namely, April 7. Now couies the cablegram announcing the news of Mr. Walpole's election; so it will be seen that this is the third meeting for the purpose of electing a Bishop.—l am, etc.,' THOMAS M. MILLIGAN. Taitville, May 5, 1910.
